The Reproductive Health Equity Project for Foster Youth (RHEP) convenes a Youth Advisory Board (YAB) made up of eighteen young people with lived experience in foster care that support RHEP in advancing reproductive and sexual health rights and increasing access to services for youth in the California foster care system.
The Youth Advisory Board provides input to the RHEP Leadership Teams, governmental agencies, community-based organizations, and others regarding how to improve access to sexual health care services and education for youth in foster care. The board is also a space to share lived experiences to generate ideas for policy changes and narrative shifting campaigns state-wide.
The RHEP YAB members are passionate about lending their voice and expertise to change the current landscape of the foster care system with a focus on sexual and reproductive health.
The Reproductive Health Equity Project for Foster Youth is seeking advocates to join the 2026 Youth Advisory Board!
The Reproductive Health Equity Project (RHEP) for Foster Youth is a partnership of policy experts, community partners, advocates, and foster youth working to dismantle systemic barriers to improve access to sexual and reproductive health care services & education for youth in care. The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) will be made up of 10-15 young people with lived experience in foster care. YAB members work on and advocate for the bodily autonomy & reproductive rights of young people in the foster system. YAB members are paid a minimum of $27/hour.
